Be in the parade

This 4th of July, Northside is RED, WHITE & GREEN! We will be doing everything we can to make sure our celebration of Independence has minimal impact on this land we hold dear. So leave your cars parked at home, bring out your bicycles, put on your walking shoes, and make your floats out of recycled materials.

We realize that some parade participants have been planning the floats for years. This is a transition year for all of us. We encourage everyone to go car-free this year, but if a vehicle is absolutely necessary, we ask for a $10 per 4-wheeled gas-powered vehicle donation, or a $5 per 2-wheeled gas-powered vehicle or hybrid donation. Your contribution will be used to purchase carbon offsets to help neutralize our carbon footprint.

Parade entry registration deadline: 5:00 p.m., Monday, June 30, 2009. All parade entries must complete and submit a signed parade application to the parade coordinator by this deadline.
